    "You did a beautiful job"

Many of you know we recently moved. The place we moved into had very nice landscaping. We had only been in the house for 3 or 4 days, when a woman came driving past. I was mowing the lawn, when she stopped and lowered her window. Thinking she might be lost, I approached her car. She said "I just wanted to tell you that you did a beautiful job landscaping". I just smiled, and said "Thank you".

Do you know about kickback? Ray has a good writeup here... https://www.sawdustzone.org/articles...mare-explained

Well, you know for sure your yard looks nice. (Are you sure it wasn't the landscaper's wife?)

I guess I need to work on my social skills--maybe spend less time here .

I was cutting the grass a couple of weeks ago and this fairly attractive woman walking her dog stopped and said something. I was pushing a gas mower and couldn't hear a thing. Anyway, I stopped the mower, said "What?" and she replied, "Smells nice." All I could reply was, "If you say so." All I could smell was combustion smoke and bug spray. Then she had to clarify, "Well, at least from here."

Don't know why I haven't seen her since. Probably explains why I didn't date much before marriage.

Next time I'll just have to do what you did. Smile and say "Thank you."
