Ya, I have one like that only much more complicated. BTW, I'm having brain surgery tomorrow. I'll be doing it myself with a bathroom mirror and a steak knife.

Don't you just wish that PBS would do a program on the intricacies of that piece or one similar to it? I'll be visiting that site often now that I've found it.
      Blessings,
      Chiz

Holy C**P! Someone stole my idea!

Good luck with that. I admire a DIY'er. It should be pretty easy with all the videos available on You Tube.

That's an incredibly unique piece of furniture. It should come with a user manual.

              Ah,
What's the big deal, its just an old piece of wood.

If I started on it now, I might finish by the next century.

There's a table that converts automatically to a writing desk. Similar to this, it has some pretty cool mechanics that drove the transformation.

It gained a bit more attention when a woodworker set up a kickstarter campaign to fund a copy being built.

What kills me about these types of peices are:
-That someone built this with hand tools, when I can't built an accutate set of poker chip trays with machinery...
-Something like this probably will never be built again (the one guy with the kickstarter being the exception, and that piece still wasn't nearly as complicated).
-I think a lot of everyday people wouldn't have the level of appreciation about this they should.

That's not bad. I can't even make a poker chip when the material is a
                  fluted dowel.
