    Cleaning shop

My shop has gotten to the point where I can barely walk in it. It doesn't help that I've got car parts stored in it for the car my son and I are rebuilding.

Anyway, I decided the other day to start culling and get rid of the small scrap pieces and stuff that I haven't needed in years. So far, some really warped plywood siding and miscellaneous pieces of other woods are in the yard waiting to be burned or hauled off. On Sunday afternoon/evening, I spent about 5 hours on just going through the stuff I'm keeping. A lot of the time was spent removing nails, etc.

My problem is with the moldings for the house. Some of the moldings that I've pulled and am keeping just aren't made anymore. If they are made, I don't know where to buy them. I can't throw the baseboards and door moldings away, but some of it has been in my shop for over 10 years. I also have a lot of what appears to be expensive South American wood that I did some "dumpster diving" for when my previous job moved into a new building 2 years ago. At the same time, I got parts of a Mahogany desk that I'm keeping. Lots of raised panels and a decent size desktop. The rails and stiles didn't hold up, but I kept them anyway in case I needed them.

In other words, my burn/haul pile is a lot smaller than the keep pile. Was hoping it would be the other way.

Not really looking for answers or advice, just venting a little. Hoping to get it straightened up enough in the next week or two so that I can put the new belt on the bandsaw, move some stuff around so that I can get to the jointer and re-align it, etc. I've got stuff to get done and it's too cluttered and dangerous to do serious work in right now.
