Yes! All the way from before launch

to where he walked after the 'chute landed him safely on the earth! What a feat. And ol' Joe there to walk him through it all too.

Didn't watch it 'live' but saw it on you tube. I think he pulled the chute early to leave the longest free fall record intact.

The wind delays made it more special in that in fell on the 65th anniversary of Chuck Yeager breaking the sound barrier for the first time.

I wonder if he did that on purpose to leave one of Kittinger's records intact. It was all very cool to see. Hard to believe that Kittinger jumped from 19 miles (Baumgartner did 24) 50 years ago! But that doesn't take anything away from Baumgartner's achievement.

Being able to watch him step of the ledge was amazing. Great to have all that technology available to see a live stream with data and everything.

NASA should talk to that team's PR folks to spice up their high profile missions somewhat and make them more accessible to a wider audience. Maybe then they'd have an easier time getting a decent budget!

I am sure he did just that since Kittinger came out of retirement to help him. Kittinger did this with all the power, technology and spending of the military of the time, whereas Baumgartner did it via a private sponsor, definitely doesn't take anything away from either's achievement!!

I started watching when he was at 50k feet. I even got my wife hooked. I had a B-Day gift I was workin on in the shop, but my wife called me up when he opened the pod. Really amazing. The HD picture was also neat. I felt like I was watching something as grand as the first moon landing.

Yep. Watched the whole thing from before takeoff until after he landed. Really, really cool. Makes me want to try it. My "you're not indestructible" sense says I won't.

Besides the live streaming, I was impressed with the technology used to get him that high (remember the 70s? ) and the suit tech as well.
