    Who's Looking at My Workbench?

Wonder who is looking at pics of my antique workbench (?)

A few years ago, I posted some pics of my cabinet maker's workbench on Photobucket to answer a post on another WW site. Since then, the album is one of the most viewed albums in my Photobucket account - 173 album views in the last five months. Wonder who? I figure a lot of people are searching for workbench ideas. The pics will show in a Google "antique workbench" image search.

I bought the bench for $50 from a junk shop in Tampa in 1980. It was factory built and had been used by a piano shop in Tampa. Piano repair receipts from 1933 are in one of the drawers. Best value purchase I have ever made. But I like it too much to use it, so it is a TV stand for an old 1985 TV that won't die. Got a lot of laughs about it's use when I posted the pics.

Looks solid as all get out. If you don't use it, it's like making a trailer queen out of a Bugatti Veyron.

Lonnie - with a bench that cool, I'd gut my shop and remodel with that as the centerpiece!

Ain't that funny about posting stuff on the internet?! I also use photobucket and have toyed with the idea of upgrading just to see where the traffic goes aside from bt3.

            > JR, C-man, and Bill - I know that I should take the workbench for a test drive into the shop. Just can't bring myself to do so. I would bleed everytime I chopped a mortise on it! It's as solid and strong as the day that it was built. Touching each dent and nick is like talking to the craftsmen who used it 80 years ago.

            > chopnhack - Kinda fun to see who in cyberspace is looking at my images on Photobucket. Still getting some "mystery" views of my workbench. Here are the latest stats for July 5,6,7:

It's probably folks that have linked it to other sites like this one and is getting some traffic.

Be the craftsman you want to be Lonnie, in a 100 years someone else will touch the dents you make today!
