    WOW for Centurylink offers!

I am with Centurylink for phone, internet DSL and TV.

Internet is 768kbs download speed. Got an email offer for a FREE upgrade to 1.5kbs. FREE.

Called, got a great guy there. Wound up getting:

10kbs download PLUS free long distance on the phone (was paying 11 cents/minute). For $4.75 LESS per month!!!!!

    Just had to brag!

If you have Centurylink, give 'em a call, now 1-866-950-8031.
We all have to go sometime, just not yet!

What are their monthly rates? Apparently they are not available in my area, but it looked like DSL starts at $19.95 per month! I'm glad you got a reduction, but at those kind of rates, they can afford to be generous.

A bit less than $75/month. Far less than any other deal in my area. I used to subscribe to Time-Warner here. Quit 22 years ago.

I did not know about this rate until I called, of course. IMHO NO service tells you about discounts. UNLESS you call.

      Of course, area matters.

An excellent suggestion. That applies to many retail and service establishments, that don't advertise discounts. So, asking can't hurt. We had DIRECTTV for about 10 years and weren't offered discounts (even after asking) until we switched to AT&T U-verse.

I have had local phone service from CenturyLink and its predecessors for many years. 6 months ago I switched everything to them. I have spent a minimum of 10 stressful hours of my time on the phone with them over the past 5 months, trying to get them to bill me correctly and to provide the services they originally promised. It has been an absolute nightmare.

What do you think of AT&T U-verse, C'man? I've been thinking about switching to them.

We are overjoyed. We are on a bundle with phone/cell/TV/internet. We were with DIRECTTV, and ATT for phone/cell/internet. It was DSL internet that kept losing the signal. We went around and around with their excuses, and decided to accept their upgrade to U-verse. No problems since. It has some very cool abilities.

How did they do that? How did CenturyLink know that someone on this site complained? Wow! Ain't modern technology amazing?!

I'm guessing by using a search engine or other ways of tracking visitors.
