I agree, a lot of times clearance prices can be hard to find, but this was a rare exception.

My primary point, though, was that the seller may well have only $100 invested - so he may be more negotiable than expected. There is a seller around here that apparently bought several at the $100 price and has been trying to unload them. He started at $250 around the time they went on clearance, now he is down to $125 and apparently is still not selling them.
Too bad nothing around here was one of the "most stores" or I wouldn't be looking for one of these now (grin)

I was hours too late with contacting him.

+1 on fair (not unreasonable) price - unlike this one:

Sometimes I wish there were a way to find out what things listed on CL actually end up selling for...

I'd offer a C-note and see what happens,Like Woodturner I as well as others here bought several of those. I got mine for $56 and resold 2 of them to make mine free. I only resold them assembled because there's nothing to the assembly, you put on the legs and fire it up. I also purchased and still have a Ridgid that I bought new in the box from HD for $96 2 yrs ago when they were in their Ridgid tool fiasco, Now they are selling them still at the old price of $300+. Hold out for a better deals unless you need one right away and I would look at older 8 inchers before a 6 anyday. They can be had for about what he's asking for his 6 if you are willing to wait and can refurb one.

I have several tools on HTC mobile bases, and they all work just fine. I wonder if you got a bad one, or if you possibly assembled it incorrectly.
