    I went "plane" crazy today!

Was a slow day at work and I was dreaming about all the stuff I want to build. I picked up some sweet planes on ebay today to help me along my way. I tried to date them with this.

Stanley #220 block plane: http://www.ebay.com/itm/330683498289 (no great dating sources on these)

Stanley #4 smoothing plane: http://www.ebay.com/itm/150753049487 (harder to date since it's a made in england plane)

    Stanley #5C jack plane: http://www.ebay.com/itm/200710667194 (type 16, 1933-1941)

Still on the hunt for the perfect jointer plane. I think these ones will clean up really well and serve me well. I got them for decent prices based on what I've seen on CL (and new and at Handplane Central). Now I gotta sharpen them up!

    So how'd I do?

Good buys. The #5 looks to be well cared for and the 220 looks new.

Nice planes. I tried last year to pick up one or two old planes on eBay & the Stanleys I bid on all went for more than what you paid. I couldn't justify bidding higher knowing I'd have to pay shipping.
