    Ever feel stupid?

Several years ago I bought a Heru-U-Lift Plus even though I did not have an immediate need for it. (It had worked flawlessly on my BT3100, and it was super deal.) It gathered dust for several years until a recently acquired planer seemed like a prefect marriage. After the assembly was completed, the bottom of the legs were about a 1.5” above floor. Whenever I tried to lower the stand onto the floor, there was no change in height. After numerous checks and double checks I was stumped, nothing seemed out of place. The silly thing could never be used for planning while sitting up on the wheels. I even spent time on the Ridgid form hoping to find a solution. I had decided that the best thing to do was to disassemble it and try again. As I began this, I placed some of my weight on the Her-U-Lift and it immediately lowered itself.
I am praying for patience but extremely upset that it takes so long.

"Ever feel stupid?" Unfortunately, that happens quite often for me.

Just recently I made some quick projects after not using my BT3100 for a few months. I put a dado set on and went to put the dado throat plate on and it wouldn't fit. The opening didn't fit over the blades. I scratched my head for awhile, took the stack off and used all sorts of different spacer combinations, and it still wouldn't work.

Finally, after screwing with it for a half hour or so, I realized I was putting the plate on upside down.

So, yes, I did feel stupid. One of the many, many times.

I find fewer and fewer times when I DON'T feel stupid.
