AUGUSTA, Ga. -
Best Buy sales manager Orville Smith told The Augusta Chronicle that four men were seen on surveillance cameras Friday stealing laptops under their jackets at the Augusta store.
When confronted, the men became irate, knocked down an employee, pulled knives, guns and bats, and ran toward the door. Outside was one Marine collecting toys for the service branch's "Toys For Tots" program.
Smith said the Marine , Cpl. Phillip Duggan, at 5'1", 127 lbs, had toys under one arm and physically disabled all four men without breaking a sweat, or dropping any packages.
All four suspects was transported to a local hospital. Each had broken arms, broken legs, broken ribs, assorted lacerations and bruises.
The suspects, whose names were not released, were held until police arrived. The Richmond County Sheriff's office said it is investigating.
All the witness could not comment, as the Marine was so fast it was just a blur, and over in just seconds.
