Could anyone tell me what wood is used in the platform bed in Fine Woodworking issue 220, Aug 2011?
Thanks

It looks like walnut to me. The panels in the headboard look like hickory.
It's hard to tell without actually seeing it up close.

The back panels look like spalted maple, really not sure what the rest is.

Ran across this digital form, and you can flip the pages and enlarge the bed.

The bed frame looks like it could be just stained Pine or Spruce. The headboard panels could be spalted Hickory.

It's walnut and spalted alder with wenge accents.

Thank you all for your responses. That will be my first major project, hopefully soon.
