It all depends on what you're in the market for. Steam turbines, gas turbines and jet engines are still made here, and in fact the US dominates in those segments (GE, Pratt &
Whitney). Those are high dollar, high value items.
Apparently wind turbines destined for US wind sites are also made here because they cost so much to ship.
How about commercial and private airplanes, where the US also dominates.
Stuffed animals, toys and other low value items are another matter. Which suggests if you want a job in manufacturing, better start boning up on your math.Comment
