What I miss from old cars:
Bumper jack that you could use for all sorts of things.
Full size spare (still get them on trucks!)
Room under the hood to work...and not needing a laptop to plug into the motor to know what's going on.
Style. Older cars were unique. These days, a Toyota sedan looks like a Honda that looks like....

    What I don't miss:
VINYL SEATS!!!!! I can't tell you how many times the back of my legs would get blistered as a child by sitting on vinly seats in 100 deg. Alabama summers with shorts on.

I like the old little vents on the front edge of the windows you can tilt in separately to get air. I also liked the dimmer on the floor. I do not miss three on the tree but it is fun to see people's faces when they see my son's old truck.

I like the automatic wipers on my bimmer. Variable valve timing and lift are great - at least until they brake. My 66 mustang's inline 6 is nothing about like the similar sized 7000 rpm redline inline 6 in my bimmer.

4 valves per cylinder, variable intake plenum length, a coil per plug with no distributor are all new. Just getting rid of points was nice.

Not so sure on the full size spare. So many of the new trucks are coming with larger wheels, with options for even larger wheels (friends kid bought one with factory 22's, yet the spare was 17"), that your just ending up with larger donuts.

As for style, with all the retro cars (Camaro, Challenger, Mustang, etc), I hope they are learning to differentiate. (otherwise may just join all the companies together to build the boxpertation)
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

But she giggled so much, it became tiresome...

Her grandpa allowed us to borrow his old plymouth, and I agree, that backseat was larger than my college dorm bed. I should know !

Holy Crap!!!! It would be cheaper to trade the truck in than to get a new set of tires when those are shot!

I got back into a truck after 6 months in an SUV. Had to get a new set of tires for the truck. 17" tires set me back about $850!

I agree with you about the new "retro" cars. I love the look of the Challenger. I would love to have just the base V-6. I wish Dodge had made the Charger look more like the 68-70 models. At least with the refresh, they made the rear look closer.
