I wouldn't trust much of anything from Microsoft. Way to too many "perfect" products that have developed issues.
I hear Kaspersky is good but not personal experience. I've used Webroot for many years and never had an issue. It has caught many things for me that nortona, macafee, and others have missed.
Norton always let me down and corporately Macafee is the choice, which I wouldn't give you 2 cents for. Avast is supposed to be ok, but I thought it was a resource hog. When I used Zonealarm, the firewall kept crashing while programs were running.
I don't think anything is going to stop everything.
