If you are near St. Paul, MN and even have a passing interest in Woodturning (or many species of wood in roundish shapes beautifully finished): this weekend (June 24-26, 2011) the AAW (American Association of Woodturners) is having it's 25th anniversary symposium in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Exhibits and trade show are free ($10 event parking).
The exhibits probably represent the largest collection of wood turnings you will see for years to come (thousands!). And the trade show likewise will be the largest collection of turning tools, blanks, pen blanks and burls for some time to come.
It is in the River Centre in St. Paul.
Sunday (last day, morning only!!!):
Ballroom A (upper level) has the "Ellsworth Retrospective", "Turning 25 – A Celebration" and "Roots – An Artist’s Voice" exhibits. 9:00a-11:30a, doors re-open at 12:30p for the “Roots” auction at 12:45p.
Exhibition Hall B, lower level: Instant Gallery and other attractions. Truly huge! Sunday, 8:00a-1:00p.
Exhibition Hall A, lower level: trade show. Sunday, 8:00a - 3:30p
