For those who have not heard of or seen SSgt Tim Chambers, the title and picture borrowed from http://www.rftw.org/forum/forum_post...t-tim-chambers

The picture is of SSgt Tim Chambers, an active duty Marine that takes leave each Memorial Day to carry out a 'mission' he started in 2002 when he was stationed in Washington, D.C. That Memorial Day, SSgt Chambers spontaneously stepped to the center of the street at 23rd and Constitution Ave, came to attention, rendered a salute, and held it for 45 minutes to each Veteran as they rode past his position.
Every year since, during the "Rolling Thunder" parade SSgt Chambers has stood in the heat to salute each Veteran as they pass on their motorcycles and turn on to Constitution Ave. Last year he held that salute for just over 4 hours. The parade this year is expected to have some 400,000 Veterans on bikes in participation.
Until last year, the trip was done at SSgt Chambers' own expense. In 2010 the Rolling Thunder organization picked up the tab, including flying his family in from Oregon.
God bless this Lone Marine, all the Veterans that will receive his salute today, and the fallen, POW/MIA they ride to honor.
Semper Fidelis and God bless our great Nation on this Memorial Day!
