A few Black Hawk choppers over downtown Miami creates quite a disturbance. Some residents called the police...like the police could do something about it.

Wooo. Scary? The navy trains pilots just about every day or at least a few times a week over our area.
Blue Angels often fly over as well.
The difference might be that we don't live in a high rise.

It takes training to become proficient at anything. Personally, I would be grateful to see such training taking place. At least you can see your tax dollars at work.

I'm a former Navy guy myself and yes training is constant. I recall as a child vacationing in Myrtle Beach SC with the A-10 Warthogs flying over all the time. (Love those planes) Nobody batted an eye because it was the norm.

But when it's not the norm, and they don't let the public know that they are going to be doing training exercises, yes people worry.

If a drug dealer got a hold of a helicopter and painted it flat black, would you just assume it was military and no big deal? Heck no, I'd call the cops and let them know. They can decide if its important or not. If I don't know, I assume its illegal activity.

When the Marine Corps Air Station in El Toro was an active fighter base there was a sign at the front gate that read:

We saw Black Hawks flying over Jones Beach (NY) last Saturday. They were looking for more victims from a suspected serial killer.

We saw more military helos on our way from the San Francisco airport to Palo Alto and assumed they were connected with the President's visit. Apparently not but itwas a good show anyhow.

The last time a military helo trained up here, it nearly sank in the lake. Apparently the pilots were a bit too close to the water.

They build Blackhawks just north of Miami. I'll bet it's a common occurance to see them flying around there.

And I'd much rather watch them then ride in them. Although I hear their way better than the Huey's we had back in the bad old days.
