    How is the snow?

    Jackellis

How's the snow up at Tahoe? 80 is closed again. I was supposed to go over to Boise for Grand kids opening day of baseball. Won't be going any time soon. Talked to my cousin, his two boys tried to get into the family cabin over at Silver Lake. It is on the far side of the lake a tall 2 story with a steep steel roof had to dig down about 4ft to find the peak of the roof. They were going to dig down to the front porch and go in but decided it was two dangerous. When I was younger we used to go up get in but we are much wiser now. Glad they came back. There is food and fire wood inside but if the chimney is buried it would not be a good idea to try and start a fire or try and find the Propane tank to turn on the gas. I guess Kirkwood is buried. I heard they have had 700+ inches of snow this winter in the Sierra. Lot of rain in the valley the rivers are running high but all the flood control facilities or working as designed so we are OK for. Scary thing is if there was a large Earthquake over the the Bay Area some of our Leevy's could be in trouble, we are pretty well saturated here. How's the plane over at Truckee? The shop is warm and dry so been spending time out there. Glad I put drainage in the back yard when I redid the landscaping and few yeas ago there was standing water but all gone now.

    How is the snow?

    Deep.

We have about 6-8 inches here since this morning with another 12+ inches forecast through Friday. Snow is piled 10' high on either side of the driveway. I expect road crews to start dumping snow in the lake because it's piled high all over town.

    Good thing you stayed home.
