    Cataract Surgery

I had one eye done this morning and I can't believe the difference. It's like someone turned the lights on. The other eye gets done April 5th. I can't wait.

Glad to hear it went well. My mom said the same thing after hers. Ain't medical technology cool?

Glad it went well. I think you are expected to take it easy for a day or two. I am learning more about it as I am taking my neighbour to a special clinic for the same surgery next week (I think he is doing both at the same time).

I had both eyes done in last year and half, and before and after truely was amazing. Also no pain or discomfort at all. I was extremely near sighted before, now I have a weak far sighted perscription and about a +2 bifocal for reading. Modern medicine is amazing.

Whaler; I am going to have the same thing next month, just on my left eye for now. Do they put you "out" for the procedure, or what? Mine will be done at VA hospital in Syracuse since I am ex government. Go for a pre-op appointment in a couple of weeks; don't know what that entails but guess I'll find out soon enough. What I know so far is that they do it in the morning and the next day come back and take off the patch. That short a time I won't have to find a parrot!

I had the pre op about a week prior to the operation, about 3 hours of exams and measurements. The day of the operation I was on my way home after
1 1/2 hrs, in surgery less than 30 min. Had to wear a clear eye patch the rest of the day and night. I was able to take it off this morning and have to put it on for two more nights. I had my post op exam today and prior to surgery my vision without glasses was 25/100 today without glasses it is 20/25. Lots of eye drops but no pain.
                        Best of luck to you.

I had both eyes done several weeks apart, a while back, with excellent results. The thing that amazes me the most is that God created the human eye where, in my case, 60 years of poor eyesight was corrected with a 15 minute simple, painless surgery. Although I still need glasses to read I chose to wear them all the time rather than use them only for reading. I have been wearing glasses for 58 years anyway so no big deal for me. I believe that when I renew my drivers license I can pass the eye test without glasses, we shall see.
