How I Paid For My Donation

    Sam and Black Walnut,
I have never done this before. And i know there are many on here that are worse off than me. But i care alot for this site and all people on here. I have been on here since 2006, and have read more than i have written. So heres my story and suggestions. Me and my wife are on a fixed income. So i tried to figure out how to pay my membership.
I drink beer as i know others on here do. I'm sure many more on here drink pop out of cans. So i made a wooden can crusher. I had an extra trash can. Then i went to 5 neighbors with plastic bags and asked them if they cared to just put their cans in the bag, and i would pick them up every week and leave a new bag. You would be surprised how many cans in got plus my own in 4 months. I bagged them up, took them to the scrape yard and sold them. I got enough to pay for the box of Dollar Store bags, pay for my gas, and send in my $25.00 and all it cost me was time. I have been in many other states during my Military Service, and noticed that some have bottles that you can get a refund on. Now this is just my story & suggestions. Please don't get upset at me for writing this. I love this site and the people. Lets keep it up and running. Thank You.

That's one nifty can crusher. It's admirable what you went through to do what you did.

          To All on here,
As of now 159 people have viewed this thread. Only 3 have made comments, but no ideas. I wrote this to hopefully get more ideas to keep this site up and running. I see from the front page we have 10,000 people on here from time to time. If only half 5000 would send 50 cents, this would end our fund drive and have reserve for next year. I feel there are many more inventive people on here than me. Come on folks, tell the rest of us your ideas. PLEASE HELP.

That is a great story and a great example. When I read the first few lines, I assumed you were selling can crushers. The story was much better than that, but I'll bet you could sell a lot of can crushers .
