    Trade Ya!

This offer valid for anyone who wants to experience northern winter

This is the part of winter I love. It's the driving to work at five( before most of the plows are out) in the morning and there's already a load over the roads that I can do with out.

    I almost would do it.

I know people get tired of snow, but about the only time that I really stop doing "something" is to look out the window at snow scenery and drink coffee. I could spend days doing that. About 15 years ago, I spent a week in a cabin on the back side of Japan in the Japan Alps with the family. I stayed inside almost the whole week, drank coffee and looked out at the snowfall across a mountain range while the girls had a blast.

Winter is nice, beautiful, and I especially like it if I can get away to the country.

My city isn't particularly big, but winter traffic drives me crazy.

When I was a teen, I used to have a five-mile paper route in the country. With the evening paper it was mostly dark with just the moon and stars and only an occasional yard light. I miss those long winter walks with my beagle and those absolutely spectacular starry nights.

I used to spend a lot of time in the outdoors during the winter. Love camping in the deep woods and always had ski's to go where people just don't normally go in the winter. (That was long before snow mobiles of course.) There's a certain "adventure" to the winter weather that just doesn't seem to be there in the other seasons.

For me, shoveling snow is preferable over mowing the lawn and people here in the city seem to be a lot happier if they're out for a winter walk. More time to stop and chat, I think.

We have only had about 3" so far this winter. It was 42 at 6:30 when I got up this morning. I just went out on the porch for a smoke and watched a humming bird at our feeder. Weird winter.

I'll trade you - but I have to warn you that your snowfall might be considered a light dusting around here. At the moment, we have 24" or so on the ground, because it has been such a mild winter. Two years ago, it snowed an inch or two a day, nearly every day, from November to April, but that was pretty unusual even for us. The scary part is that we are in the midwest, not a "Northern" state.

That was just a flurry. Only four-five inches yesterday. We had 12 inches fall this past wednesday alone and I know we're not done yet! Snow fall has been light the past few years but we seem to be making up for it this year.

We got 19 to 20 inches last week! Our normal annual snowfall is about 12 inches for the entire winter.

I actually enjoyed this one some, because our plant shut down and I sat home, and looked out the windows some.
