About to get back to woodworking

I haven't been on here in more than three years. I got stationed in Hawaii and my workshop got packed up and put in storage in Virginia. Well I am about to retire from the Marine Corps and likely end up on the east coast. Either way I will be back in the states and really hope everything isn't rusted. I stripped everything and put new wax on before it got packed up. I probably should have covered it all in grease.
So around summer time I will probably be on here regularly again.

Welcome back to the "World". A major league "Thank You" is the order of the day, which is a h**l of a lot more than what my generation got when I returned from waaay too many tours in SE Asia.

PM me is you need anything.

        Congrats

I retired from the AF 4 yrs ago. Took some time to get settled in the "real world" and now I am very happy. The first of the month is always nice when you get your check. :-)

Don't worry about the tools, you can take your time and tune them up.

Congrats on finishing your first career and best wishes on your second!

Twilight tour in Hawaii? You lucky dog! Did mine, last 6 years, in Beautiful Beaufort by the Sea. Longest I was ever anyplace, AND the only duty station I really didn't like. (I did enjoy going down the street with a net and a couple of traps to pick up FRESH shrimp and blue crab for supper.)

You are going to hear a lot of, "You're going to miss the Corps!".

*Formations in monsoon like down pours
*Being told you need to explain your orders to foster better relations with the troops (Cuz I'm the Gunny and you're the PFC, explaination enough)
*Standing in front of the 'Old Man', being asked what the h*ll happened Saturday night at that bar (while you were off duty, at home, with your family, sleeping.....)

Yep! There's a lot of things you are going to miss.

Buy a good quality garment back, set your Blues up to perfection, and hang them in the closet for the day someone else will need to put them on you.

Enjoy the days ahead, setting an alarm for when YOU want to get up, and hearing that alarm in the place of your choosing.
