We've had several break-ins the past couple of years on my circle. SWMBO decided to get with the local PD and the neighbors, and we now have a neighborhood watch. The ironic this about it...one couple on the circle has a lot of toys (dirt track motorcycles, boat, trailers, etc.), and has had their house broken into TWICE in about a six month period. Even so, they don't want to participate in the watch.

I've thought about some sort of self installed security system for both the house and the shop. Something like the X10 stuff. Problem is that I don't have a phone line in the shop, so it would be a siren only system.

I need to take pics and get the serials off my stuff as well. Hope you get your stuff back, or that insurance gives you enough to cover purchasing replacements.

I hope you find your tools. Really bad starting off the new year.
That is a very good idea. I've been meaning to do this for a while. Also a good idea to put a copy of the DVD with pics, etc. in a safe deposit box at your bank.
