Guess I shouldn't be complaining about needing to mow my yard (mainly to mulch the leaves). It's still mostly green, and I can see it.
I kind of like the snow, to a degree. Used to live in Arizona, but missed the change of seasons.
So, in the Southern hemisphere, countries such as Australia are entering the warmer season. Do they still call it summer, or are their winters warm and summers cold?

I'm becoming more and more convinced a perfect winter would be when it snows on Christmas Eve and melts New Year's Day, no more than a couple of inches.
We've got what looks like about 18" on the ground now with some of the weather guys mumbling about a major storm expected on Friday, just in time for all the drunks to be on the road. Me? I'm hunkering in for the weekend Thursday night.
Getting hammered all round us but here in the "South" part of Canada all we have is a dusting in the morning and that's usually gone later in the day. It's cold and breezy but no snow yet.
I can see snow on the mountains, but it's bright and warm at home. That's the perfect way to enjoy snow. If you want a more intimate encounter you can drive to the snow, then come home from it.
It's the civilized way to enjoy Mother Nature's favors.
Had several insignificant snow falls lately; couple of inches at most each time. Ground is white, roads are clear. Sorry ya'll are getting the deep stuff that just plain sucks!
We got hammered with 8"-10" here in Williamsburg,VA over the weekend (third-biggest snowstorm on record). Fortunately, my 22-year-old grandson was visiting for Christmas, so I had help digging out. I moved down here to get away from snow! Shovelling the stuff wasn't in my plans at 74.
