    Fast Corvette for sale

Check out the video a guy posted on YouTube when trying to sell his Corvette. This is a fast one. 195 mph.

Unfortunate for him, the cops also watch YouTube.

Nice car....but he put a lot of lives at risk with his stunt. You could have the skills of a top NASCAR driver, but all it takes is granny pulling in front of you (easy to miss someone in the other lane approaching at close to 200 mph) and we have a huge tragedy. Also, just because your motor can crank you up to 200, unless you have the rest of your car set up to take it (Z-rated tires, suspension, etc.) you could have some sort of equipment failure at those speeds as well. Maybe these cars are built for these kind of speeds from that perspective (I am no car guru). With that kind of speed / momentum on a public road chances are the wreck would take out more then the Corvette.

I'm curious what kid of charge could stick with this. The reason I ask is that when they started installing red-light cameras in our city (Ohio), they could only fine you, there were no points charged to your license. Something about an officer had to observe the infraction for there to be actual points taken off your license.

Glad no one got hurt. He may need the $$ now for court costs / fines.

Hope no one forwards this to his insurance agent

That was insanely stupid of him. He should be behind bars.

But wow, pretty darn fast car.

Doing it and admitting to the cops you did it are both stupid things to do. On a deserted piece of interstate with no traffic in either direction, you could argue you are only risking your life. On a congested freeway, it is just crazy stupid.

I am far from perfect, however. My garmins record your maximum speed. I frequently erase it after long trips. I do not like seeing how fast I was going to get away from somebody that annoyed me (passing me and then slowing down, big speed differences that make me repeatedly pass you, jumping the left lane and then slowing down, etc). I don't get to 195 or even 160, however (my fastest vehicle is supposed to be able to do 150 (has the tires and the power) but it has not come close yet. Someday, cars may have this sort of technology installed and people may watch us. I often use rentals, for instance, for business trips. Why couldn't a rental car agency check how fast you drove their vehicle?
