    10 yo Blown Glass Artist

I watched this kid blow glass a couple of weeks ago. It's pretty amazing to watch a 10yo kid working that intensely and deliberately. He knows exactly what he's doing.

I didn't watch the whole thing, but it's obvious that he does know what he's doing. I hope he understands all the precautions needed to do that kind of thing for a lengthy period of time.

He is working at a public studio, and they take insurance costs very seriously. While an accident can happen to anyone at any time, believe me, he is thoroughly schooled in safety before they would ever let him anywhere near this stuff. As a long time contemporary glass collector, it amazes me how few accidents there are in the making of this art.
A lot of work is done by teams, so you might have 3-5 different people swinging around a pipe with molten glass on it during the process.
I have watched hundreds of hours of glassblowing and have yet to see an accident, and personally I only know of one, and that was relatively minor.
