    Firefox Problem

I have created a folder in my bookmarks and have 9 bookmark links inside the folder. When I R-click to "Open all links in Tabs", I always have 3-4 links that Firefox refuses to open. I get the message that "Firefox can't find the server at ..link..". If I switch to IE, the links are opened without any problem, so I know my IP is okay AND the servers are not overloaded. The affected links do open after refreshing 1 or 2 times.

This seems to be a fairly common problem with Firefox since I am overwhelmed when I Google the issue.

I am running Windows 7, but I had the same problem in XP. So far I have:

    double-checked Firefox configuration,
    removed cookies, etc.,
insured Windows Firewall has Firefox listed as having access to the internet (added it, removed it, added it again with the Firefox exe link),
changed a few settings in "about:config" including DNS prefetching, pipeling, max-persistent (server).

So far, no success. Does anyone else have this problem or have a solution for it?

    Bob,

Although I'm running Firefox on a Mac, I find it quirky at times. For instance, certain sites info won't download using FF. I then go to Safai (Apple's own browser) and everything works fine.

I guess that some things don't agree with FF. What can one expect for free.

Can you give us one of the links? I've used FF exclusively for years and years without running into any issues like either of you describe- and I'm on it easily 4-6 hours a day every day.

I'm sure it could be figured out.... if you want to just do a work around the ie tab plus add-on will let you set sites to open in FF with the IE browser engine every time you go to site xyz.

        Hi,

I just tried to do the Open All with no problems in FF. All 6 of my forum links open OK. My FF version is 3.6.8.

I'm using XP Pro SP3. With 2GB of ram. I'm on a wireless network. Never did this before but glad it works for me.

It is not always the same link that does not open. I have 9 links in one folder. This morning, two would not open. One was my Yahoo mail, the other was www.goofball.com. There's nothing really unusual about the links. One that sometimes does not open is:

http://www.buy.com/retail/clearance/....asp?loc=14982. It opened fine this morning.

I disabled one toolbar that I rarely use and that seemed to help.
