    International cell phones

I don't have a GSM phone so I was thinking of renting an international cell
phone. My dad just went to Europe and he used Verizon. We're both
Verizon customers. He paid $10 for the phone rental for 3 weeks. Rates in
UK are 99cents/minutes which seems really steep to me but maybe it isn't.

Anyone have any suggestions? I have Skype installed on my iPod Touch and
will use that when I'm in an area with free WiFi (hotel room) and maybe this
lab site I'm visiting. I still want to be reachable, though.

    Thanks,
    Paul

Rent the phone and limit who you give the phone to. Unless you have a Blackberry with a GSM chip in it, renting is probably your best alternative.

Have a beer, or three, for me.
