What happened to my Rangers (sob!!)

I think they've given up more runs in 2 games than in the entire ALCS, and that was against the (****) YANKEES!!

And the Giants are supposed to have a pretty pedestrian offense.

You know it's your night when the opposing batter smacks a deep drive that hits the TOP of the wall and bounces BACKWARDS (straight to the outfielder) instead of over for a an HR. Angels (or gremlins) in the outfield, I guess.

I would say first World Series jitters, they should do better at home. Hope not I am Giants fan. LOML was pulling for the Ranger Pitchers during the terrible 8Th inning. I do have to agree watching those young men struggle was not easy, but hey they make the big bucks.

Well "you" and the Yanks can spend tomorrow polishing the trophy case, since you won't have anything better to do:-)

New York (AP) - After his team's disappointing elimination from the playoffs and a chance at the World Series, Hank Steinbrenner announced today that the New York Yankees Baseball Organization has bought the Texas Rangers for $500 million, ensuring that the Yankees Organization will have a chance at yet another World Series title.

Mr. Steinbrenner refused to acknowledge or dismiss the notion that the Yankees were also looking at buying the remaining 28 MLB teams

That was really crazy. Not sure I ever saw that many balls thrown in a row (I think it was 11, with a hit batter mixed in). You really had to feel sorry for Washington, as well as the guys who couldn't find the plate.

Well, good or bad things can happen in short series...

I think the Rangers were probably only somewhere between the 3rd and 5th best team in the AL yet they're in the world series. Heck the local team won the World Series in a year where they only had 85 wins and were outscored over 162 games during the regular season...

I'm still pulling for Texas (well, any AL team other than the Yankees), so hopefully they can get it together at home.

This is why baseball is my favorite sport. Any given team can beat any other team in any game. The starting pitcher has a bad day, there's a lucky bounce, some journeyman secondbaseman gets hot with the bat… There's a million ways to win or lose a baseball game.

Personally, I enjoy a pitcher's duel much more than a slugfest. Of course, when my beloved Cardinals beat That Team From Chicago it doesn't matter how.

I'm a little surprised Cliff Lee won't be going tomorrow. If he did, he could possibly get to start the 7th game, if needed.

Last night I was flipping between the Rangers/Giants and Baylor/Texas games.

Was impressed with the kid that pitched the 9th for the Rangers. Made me think of the Sheen character in "Major League". I don't think he threw anything but fastballs. Slowest I saw was 96 mph and a couple at 99.

Yeah, Nefty brings some serious heat. He set the MLB Rookie Record with 40 saves this season.

Most impressive of the night was Moreland's 9-pitch battle, ending with a 3-run homer.
