Craigslist has it's own handy dandy search function built right into the main page and all the sub pages of your area. Why use another website to do it for you?

Simple. Some of live in areas where searching multiple Craigslist areas is needed for the best results. For example, I live in Sough Jerseey (southern NJ area on Craigslist), work 30 minutes away in Delaware (DE section) and can be in Philadelphia is 35-40 minutes (Philly area). On Craigslist searches, I have to do all of those separately. I've been using crazedlist.com to search all of them at once.
I'll need to check out those others to see how they compare.
I used craiglook and searchtempest and both do the job fine. I usually manually check my areas a couple times a day in case there are items I might want that I didn't think about searching for. Never found craiglook miss an item. If you're a real addict like me you'll set up RSS feeds to email you and apps to send you push notifications
If you have gmail you could use google reader which is pretty easy to setup.
Funnily, just yesterday CL has changed their own page to show a thumbnail picture with the listing itself (whenever the post itself has a picture). Maybe they'll start to provide some of these search functionality too.
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

If you have an iOS device, I heartily recommend an app called Craigspro+. It will set you back $2, but it's worth it. I can search multiple areas, save searches, get push notifications (that costs extra). Very, very handy for the CL aficionado.
