Billed as one of Canada's biggest( in area) woodshows, Woodstock was where I went this weekend. The show is annually held at the Woodstock Ontario fairgrounds. It includes four large halls, a number of vender tents and outside displays. I was able to meet up with some woodworking friends and come home with a few deals. It also includes the Upper Canada Woodworking Championship which held many increadible entrys.

I managed to come home with a bag full of pen making supplies, got and awsome deal on some spalted maple, and half off some router bits.

I wish I knew about this. I'm only about 2-1/2 hrs from woodstock. Living in MI and being from Western NY, I've made that trip for 20+ yrs.

Side questions:
Is there a site that I can visit to get info on upcoming shows?

I am interested in visiting one of the Lee valley stores; London (closest), Burlington (on the way to NY) and 3 in Toronto (probably as part of a city visit).

Is there one store that stands out as their Flagship or are they all about the same?
I could do London as a special trip if an extended time in the store is required.

Here is a link to a few of them in Ontario and Eastern Canada. As you see some of them already done for this year and this site does not include Woodstock, Toronto and Hamilton (different organizers).

Toronto Canadian Home Workshop show (largest Canadian show) has moved form first weekend of March to the last weekend of November (26, 27 & 28 - US Thanksgiving?). This one includes regular seminars and demos plus 2 interactive workshops (one for kids and one for adults. (as a side note, they are running it along with three other shows about outdoor and cottage life).

As for Lee Valley stores, I have been to the three in Toronto and the one in Burlington. They are almost the same although the Toronto West is slightly larger and perhaps more displays. Downtown store does not feel like a store at all since it is in an old refurbished office building. And a reminder that most items are on display behind glasses!!! unless they are doing some kind of demo or a class.

Thanks so much for the links. The homeworkshop show looks interesting.

The Lee Valley stores don't seem to lend themselves to a special trip. Maybe I'll drag the family in for a pit stop when we travel to visit family in NY later thsi year.

The Hamilton show is a good one( not as big on the seminars though) and you get to visit the Warplane museum for the same price. Plus Lee Valley is a small hop to Burlington. Can't go wrong there.
