    My living will:

Last night, my kids and I were sitting in the living room and I said to
    them ,
'I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and

fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the plug.'

They got up, unplugged the Computer, and threw out my wine.

They are SO on my s**t list ...

That is funny especially because I am filling out all the paper I need before I have surgery next week. One of them besides my Will is a Advance Medical Directive which ask those kind of questions. Maybe I should put at he bottom of that section, "This does not mean to turn off my computer off and to throw out my drink, whatever it might be.

That's funny. But seriously, it's important to have a living will with a medical directive and naming who will be in charge of the decision.

Jabe, your response reminds me that I need to buy some life insurance. My problem...I've got to figure out how much the family needs to cover everything without making it too tempting for SWMBO.

Your remark reminds me of when I was working for Newsweek magazine. At the time they had a term policy for all employees paying out ten (10) times their annual salary if you died while traveling for the company.

I had made the mistake of teaching my wife how to shoot my .45 and she got fairly good at it.

Well. she used to wake me up in the middle of the night and whisper in my ear that I was worth considerably more dead than alive.

Moral: Never teach the wife to handle firearms and keep the knives under lock and key.

That's all well and good, but some wives (like mine) are as deadly with her hands and feet.

Aw, heck, I'm hosed for sure. She wants to use a gun (we've had some unsavory characters in our neighborhood as of late), and is an advanced Green Belt in karate. My days are numbered.
