What's the farthest you've driven/would drive for a CL deal?

So how far/long would you or have you driven for a Craiglist deal?

My farthest was 50miles which took me a little more than an hour for my
Ryobi drum sander. Well worth the trip!

I'm considering buying a lathe but the ones available would mean a 5+ hour
roundtrip. As I get older, the realization that my free time is not really free is
    becoming more and more apparent.

From where I live in Sacramento, CA probably 150 miles one way. That is considered a short trip in CA. I have bought stuff off Craigslist in Boise Idaho but I go there to be with the Grandkids and will check on Criagslist before I go to see if there is anything. If there is I have my son or Daughter in Law pay for the I pick it up when I get there. I buy hard Liquor from Bevmor here and bring with me so they don't have to go to State run Liquor store.

Most of the great lumber deals around Chicago are well out into the sticks, farmers love to pay a hundred bucks to have a storm felled tree sawn and stacked in their barn. Ten to twenty years later they'll unload it for around a buck or two per "board foot." The quotes are because I've yet to meet one who insists that 6/4 or 8/4 shouldn't be measured length x width.

Furthest for a tool would be a little over 80 miles each way. Dead of winter I pulled up to a farm off a dirt road to pick up a boxed 2002 Craftsman 12" Band Saw. Old feller had bought it to use for his sausage making hobby but realized he needed larger. To this day I'm amazed my love of woodworking didn't end with me being served on his table.

I went close to 200 miles round trip for a used Cman TS a few years ago....not worth it!

About 100 miles each way for a Cman 22114. I've had several trips between 50-100 miles each way. Most of these were a couple of years ago before the gas prices went insane. Back then I was on one of those long road trips about once a month. Friends got sick of me calling them up and asking to borrow their truck . Main reason I got my small Ranger. But now with gas prices the way they are, the deal has to be a major gloat for me to drive that far. Luckily most of the great deals I've gotten lately are pretty close. Most of them have actually come from garage and estate sales.

50 miles one way is normal around here. South part of Austin is 25 miles, San Antonio is 65.

The longest trip for a CL find was just under a 190 miles, but that was for my Harley.

When I lived in Denver a 80 mile round trip up to Thorton or Bolder and back was a common thing to do..

One time we made 2 180 mile round trips up to Estes Park to look at a Trailer we didn't buy.

My Dad is kinda funny.. If he knows I'm heading over to Seattle or Portland he'll send me CL shopping for stuff he finds there.
