      Not at all.

Actually on NPR yesterday they were talking about what a "non-story" it was, and that though Rhinebeck is filled with media vans, satilite trucks, and hundreds of correspondants, most are standing around trying their best to find something to talk about.

Gee, I wish some of them would wander over and talk about the Rhinebeck aerodrome... now I'm sure most of us would find that highly interesting.

I hope this helps everyone get past "the wedding"

I suspect this might be more about the parents of the bride than the bride herself.

OTOH, I cannot imagine spending several million dollars on a wedding. An airplane, maybe but not getting hitched. LOML would agree with me, at least about the wedding part

About as much boring media hype as LiLo going to jail.

I'm glad that this wedding is costing in the millions. It's about time that the Clinton's gave back some of their ill gotten gains.

One of my favorite writers, Andy Inhatko (www.cwob.com) has what he calls the "Buttafuco point," when a person or event has been covered so much that one's eyes roll whenever the person/event is mentioned.

I think that point was reached about two weeks ago.

Nope, nor do I care what she spends on the wedding. On the other hand I am certain as death will visit me one day that if this was the wedding of a conservative politicians daughter, the media would be expounding on how many mouths could have been fed with the budget for flowers

I heard that Hilllary was demanding to know if Chelsea and her fiance were engaging in premarital sex.

Chelsea smiled and answered, "Not according to Daddy!"

FWIW, hate the player not the game. It's the media that's making it into a 3 ring circus, the poor girl just wants to get married.
I have actually heard numbers from $300,000 to 5 million for this wedding, all from 'major news sources'. Who knows, who cares? Let the kid have her day and leave her alone, it's nothing more than you would want for your own daughter.

Actually, I wouldn't want a worldwide media circus for my daughter. I certainly don't blame Chelsea for the hoopla, either. It is indeed the media I blame, hence the heading I chose for this thread.

Actually you can't blame the media. They have to jump on events like this. IIRC, the Julie and David wedding received plenty of coverage. I just don't remember excessive flamboyance.
