    CL - blade safety

I'm not around here often lately, but I just found this on CL and couldn't resist dropping by.

    From CL ad...emphasis added...
"I have a nice Craftsman 6 1/8" jointer. Has guard to protect blades from hands and rabbetting edge. Comes mounted on a solid table custom built for the jointer that has a built in chip chute that you can connect you shop vacuum to. Now, how awesome is that? Come over and let's try it out. $125 or OBO."

With my history, I'll pass on the guard test.

It's probably owned by Roberto Duran.

Years ago, the tips of 2 fingers on my right hand got in a fight with the knives of an 8" jointer. The knives won with out too much trouble!

Well, I for one am glad Carlos Osorio is selling his jointer. He's made enough money from Ryobi already, let someone else have a piece of the pie.

As rough as my hands are, the guard would probably extend the life of the knives.
