JR,
I had a big one that learned how to come in the doggy-door, traverse the bottom floor and eat dog food in the kitchen. One night, the dogs heard him and the bedroom door was open. There was a huge commotion. I thought it was a burglar. So, armed with a .357 and starkers, I ran down stairs. The dogs had the Raccoon treed in a Queen Palm by the pool. My wife laughed until she had tears running down her face
The Raccoon never came back.

and "the raccoon never came back" which prompts me to wonder if it was the 357' or you being starkers?RuffSawn

We too had a cat door and a family of raccoons..... The young are a lot like puppies, they got along well with the cats, the older ones were a bit more reserved but still willing to raid the cat food.
