I haven't bought bread all year...

LOML's new year's resolution was to make the family's bread instead of buy it. Well, she totally rocks: So far this year we've all had an insane variety of the best breads I've ever had, and they were all made from scratch -- not even with a bread machine. Normally I brag about my kids in my random posts. This time I get to brag about my wife!

In case anyone else is interested in trying this (and we would both recommend it), here's a great resource: http://www.artisanbreadinfive.com/ -- she's leaned on this 5-minute bread several times, and I don't think it's ever gone wrong.

I love home-baked bread... Have to stay clear of it though, because I don't know when to quit...

Oh, yes!!! My wife too loves the Le Creuset style of bread making. All the labor is in the mixing of the ingredients and waiting.... very good stuff, the peasants ate better than the king!

My wife makes bread periodically with a breadmaker. Problem is we don't eat that much and most of it spoils. She does make killer cinnamon buns, which disappear pretty quick.

My brothers wife makes all her bread, but she uses a machine. I thought they were 'roughing it' with that! Good for you and GOOD FOR YOU!
