This brought a tear to my eye and reminded me that it is not only the sacrifices of the fallen but of those that have been left behind that is so very, very important. I am also reminded that freedom is not free, God bless our Military.

Memorial day:
Parents, siblings, friends, classmates
some volunteered, others chosen by lottery.
Many fought in noble causes,
more than a few in history’s denouncements.
Each left his life, or limbs, or mind or childhood
in the belief that his or her effort,

People must have thought I was nuts today. Everytime I heard "happy Memorial Day" or words to that effect, I stopped to explain that the day is set aside to remember and mourn those men and women who gave their all to our nation.
