    Moving New Electric Stove

I just purchased a new electric stove and need to pick it up. I declined the "free shipping" and opted for the 10% "discount"...

Anyway, it's too tall for my minivan. Is there any reason I couldn't lay it on it's back for transport? It is electric, with the glass top (I'm assuming the top is well protected).

Another thought immediately came to mind...

If it's in its factory packaging, I would lay it on the smoothest side. If it's a free standing range, the side might be better.
