Well *I* at least think it's beautiful!
I admire the fact that car designers from the 30's-50's weren't content with bland designs but were willing to take risks and inject some boldness into their products.Jeff

I have to agree with Jeff, I like it.
I can't but think that some auto manufactures would be doing better today if they put some style back into car designs. Remember when you knew the make of a car by looking at it and not by hunting down the logo on the car? I see Big 3 concept cars at the auto shows that look sharp and exciting but when they roll off of the assembly line they look just like every thing else.

I think it's peculiar looking but not ugly.
Reminds me of a Talbot Lago

Bill, I remember as a child being able to identify a car, even at night with the headlights on, by just the shape of the lights or the nose. Now, like you said, you can't tell a Hyundai from a Toyota from a Honda from a Nissan....I have to agree with Jeff, I like it.

I don't like some of what's coming out of Detroit now, but at least they are being a little different.
Even though it was before my time, I love the muscle car era. The cars were similar given their nature, but still very unique in their own ways.
I'm not that fond of the car in the auction, but I do appreciate the fact that it is so rare. I can also see how its styling may have influenced others. Nice find if you've got a spare $30mil in the pocket."It's a dog eat dog world out there, and I'm wearing Milk-Bone underwear."- Norm (from Cheers)

I like it, but the raised seam down the middle and on the fenders shouldn't have been done. The one Tom shows is a much nicer design.ErikComment

I was gonna buy it, but the wife wanted matched his and hers. neither of the other 2 were available.....

I MUCH prefer the type 41. As a kid, I had that as a matchbox, and remember when it set the car record (10mil).She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.Comment

I totally agree with Mr_Bill. To consider the car was made in the mid 30's, by hand, and intended to be a statement of class...
Yes, it isn't our modern tastes, but art rarely is. What gets me is what to do with a car like that? You certainly couldn't drive it anywhere,
