    Child Logic

My 3 year old has started getting out of bed a few times after we put her to bed. Last night I opened her door and she was standing there with her hands over her eyes. I asked why - though she was crying or something - and she said "So you can't see me Daddy".

My goddaughter...who will be graduating from college this year pulled a real funny when she was young. While her mother was sitting on the sofa watching TV, she went around to the back of her head, and was separating her hair. When asked what she was doing, she said "I'm looking for those eyes".

Last night I went upstairs to check on my 3 year old about an hour after we put him to bed to find out that he had taken a blue marker and colored his book and his face, arms, legs, belly, pillow, and two stuffed animals.

Luckily, it came off his face with out too much effort. He was definitely proud of himself and got upset went I put him to bed (again) and I wouldn't give him a red marker.

My 2 year old has some of those interlocking play mats that have different letters and numbers on each mat. The letters and number come out, so kids can learn various skills. Some letters even have knock out pieces for the internal arches, curves, holes, etc. Well my wife was trying to find all the pieces to put this away and couldn't find the little triangle that fits inside the capital A. Amid frustration she said "I can't find the A hole." Sure enough Molly picked up on the phrase saying: "Mommy can't find the A-hole. Mommy can't find the A-hole."

Now we watch what we say around her.
