Reminds me when I was living in Alaska, out by Dutch Harbor. We had a post outside the door with a log chain hanging down. If it was standing straight out-too windy stay inside; hanging at a 45 degree-normal day; hanging straight down-go back to bed its NEVER not blowing. As I recall it was pretty accurate mostlyRuffSawn
