Better Than A VCR

I recorded a program with U-verse for the first time since installation. I couldn't believe how fast and easy it was. Bring up the menu...highlight the program...hit record.

I know ATT take a lot of hits for is services or cost there of. That being said, Uvers is the best thing I have had. We can record 2 HD and 2 SD programs at once and it is simple. I like the idea I can set up the DVR from a remote location using my Netbook. The quality of the HD picture on some programs is outstanding. The Smithsonian Channel has some programs where they are flying over countryside that take your breath away. The program is called Skyview if you get SmithHD try it you will love the program. The service has improved as they have added more subscribers and we have very few pixalation problems. My BIL and I wired his house and mine with CAT5 cable in every room except the bathrooms so you can plug a computer, or TV receiver in anyplace you want. Living room and Family room have multiple outlets to accommodate the wive passion to moving furniture. Yes his garage shop and my workshop have outlets also. I just don't have room for a TV out there but I can plug my computer in. The wireless network is also great.

A Quick Question

I have been thinking about changing our service over to ATT U-Verse. I've got Cat5 run to most of the needed locations but the condo came prewired with coax to all the locations that we selected. I'm wondering if there are any advantages to using Cat5 or is it even possible for them to use the existing coaxial. Any information would be greatly appreciated, I've been waiting a long time to dump Comcast. With the fiber pulled into the complex I now have a viable option.

We used mostly the same coax that works with cable/satellite. No problems at all.

I dumped dish for U verse about a year ago. I don't regret it at all. Mine is also ran in coax, and I don't do the HD, but I love it.

My only complaint is I guess its due to updating or something but once and a while about 1 or 2 am it looses phone service. My alarm system takes that as an intrusion and sounds the bell. Its a rather rude awakening.
