    iPad Problem

LOML was considering an iPad. She might wait now to see if the connectivity problem gets solved.

I wonder if is certain routers they are having problems with. Granted, I have an apple airport, but I have had no connectivity issues. I've been on two other networks both in the mall and in a mcdonalds and haven't had an wifi issues there either.

I wonder if this is a UK-only problem??? Or a conspiracy by Big Router to keep us down, man.

Not saying this is the answer but the early on problem is diagnosed as:

Apple has posted a KnowledgeBase article (TS3304), "iPad: Does not automatically rejoin known Wi-Fi networks"

            Symptoms
Under certain conditions, iPad may not automatically rejoin a known Wi-Fi network after restart or waking from sleep. This can occur with some third-party Wi-Fi routers that are dual-band capable when:

            • Using the same network name for each network
            • Using different security settings for each network

            Products Affected
            iPad

            Resolution
If you encounter this issue, try the following:

            • Create separate Wi-Fi network names to identify each band. This can be done easily by appending one or more characters to the current network name.
            - Example: Add a G to the 802.11b/g network name and an N to the 802.11n network name.
            • Ensure that both networks use the same security type (WEP, WPA, WPA2, and so on)

If the issue persists, reset your network settings using Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Note: Always ensure that your Wi-Fi router firmware is up to date.

              no problem

I've used my ipad every day since saturday and have had no problems auto-connecting to my wifi. I'm connecting 802.11n. It did hang on me once, but after reboot, no problems. Have logged about 20 hours on it.
