    How Does Bing Cashback Work?

I mean, what's involved? Do I just sign up for it and is it instant, or is it like a rebate? I found a mower I want and it is 50 bucks cheaper via Bing, but when I click the link it takes me to HomeDepot.com.

I used it back when it was MSN. You must follow Bing searches and links to a participating vendor. Back then you had to pay via PayPal (don't know if it's still the same), and then the rebate is credited to your PayPal account, where you can either use as credit, or withdraw cash. I went round and round with them about their giving me an incomplete credit, and then after adjustment was finally given it did not by itself meet their minimum for reimbursement, so they wanted me to by another item to get my money. I refused out of principle, and they finally sent me a check, but not without moving Heaven and Earth... I will never use them again.

Thanks. Giving out my personal info didn't seem worth it, plus even though I have the cash assuming I buy new I can probably get free financing.

I used it when it was either live or MSN. (not sure which) I bought my laptop around Xmas 2008 (just before my father went in the hospital) and the purchase netted me back, more then the minimum. Since my paypal isn't linked to a bank account (refuse), I did the check thing. Total time between purchase and when I got the check was close to 90 days. (more of a rebate)
Haven't used them since, since not any big enough purchase, and in some cases, I have found Bing searches to be higher. (people raise prices when Bing has a decent discount)

I used it when they were offering insane amount of cash back on items like 35% cash back. I remember purchasing $700.00 and got $245.00 back from them. Nowadays they only offer between 5% to %15% cash back on items. I think ebay it is like 8% on BIN items only though.

Last year I earned the max $2500 Live.com Cashback...it's hard not to be pleased with it. This year it's expanded to include several other businesses....eg: Sears, Target, Kohls, Circuit City, Buy.com, Tiger Direct, and hundreds of others. In most cases the amount back is lower, but it's still a potential discount. It's pretty simple to originate a search through their site, so I usually check before I make an online purchase.

$2500 back?! I am impressed! You must have at least a 3 car garage:-). I bow to the master!

Before it was Bing, I must say I used it a lot and never had a problem with it. Back in the glory days of 25-35% off, it was really worthwhile, a bit less so now.

It's great! You just search on their site, click a cashback link, then follow that link to the vendor. Make the purchase, then within 60 days the cash appears in your Bing account and you can move it to your paypal account.

Very popular on the bargain forums, and 35% to 50% credits can still be found at times.

I use it for buying car parts on Ebay, among other thing. A $250 fuel pump doesn't seem quite so bad when you get 50% rebated.

That's interesting, haven't encountered that. How were you able to determine they were raising prices? I'm curious how this could work technically. Do you know the technical aspects of this?

I had a few auctions I was watching. Most all buy it now. One of the newsgroups posted what Bing had jumped to and the auctions then started being relisted with a higher BIN price. (and they sold the stuff)

I had talked to one seller, who even said that he could get more money.

Thanks for the info. That makes sense now. I was thinking about retailers rather than auctions, and wondering how retailers could change their pricing based on Bing.
