    This is about politics

    My wife, Carole, has a cousin, Barry. He and his wife visited us not long ago. Barry and Carole share another cousin, Kay. Barry asked my wife if she has been in contact with Kay. She told him they traded e-mails regularly. But Kay kept sending her political e-mails, which my wife didn't agree with. Finally Carole told Kay she wished she would stop sending that type of e-mail. Evidently, that upset Kay because she stopped communicating with Carole for some time (but now it's back to the norm). Barry asked my wife "Which side was Kay on?". I'm not usually this quick, but I immediately said "Kay was on the other side".

      Wasn't that a movie from the 60's? "Barry and Carole and Ed and Kay"? Or was it "Alice"?

      That was a good comeback. I have friends at work who send out barbed political emails from different sides of the aisle all the time. Sometimes I chime in. We are still good buddies, particularly when we talk about our hobbies of woodworking and guitar playing, which leads me to believe that politics was a tool invented by the devil to drive apart otherwise reasonable people with a lot in common.

              Personally I will talk politics only with those who can laugh at a good one about their candidate or position, or with people who have ideals and hold their parties to them. I have a real problem with those who condemn one side but excuse there side for the same thing or are ready to twist the facts for their benefit and cry foul when it happens to them.

                      I had to flow chart all the people in the post.

                      Reminded me of the two blonds that were standing on opposite sides of a river. One yells across to the other..."How do I get to the other side?"

                      The other blond yells back..."You are on the other side".
