    Great Man, Beautiful Plane

BIL sent me this video enjoy. I think it is the most beautiful plane ever built. Grew up seeing and hearing them over my house. It is over 20 minuets but worth it.

Outstanding film and worth every second of viewing. I too think the P-51 Mustang was the most beutiful plane ever built and the best prop fighter in the world. I am fortunate to have had two Mustang pilots from my home town. Uncle Maury Bramblett and T.W. Green who is the father of one of my close HS friends.

Uncle Maury passed about 13 years ago but Mr. T.W. is still alive. As a matter of fact I think I will delay going to the shop just after noon and drop by Mr. T.W.'s house. If I know him he will be in the yard prepping for his garden as he always does when the weather starts breaking down here in Dixie.

Mr. T.W. told me before I joined the Army during the Vietnam war to en-list for anything but infantry. I didn't listen and en-listed for Air-borne. I understood latter that Mr. T.W was trying to steer me away from what he already knew from having experienced war. But... the day I got home from Vietnam Mr. T.W. showed up in his old pick-up truck to shake my hand.. give me a hug and welcome me home.

God bless the boys (men) that made the noise in the P-51 Mustang and other WW II prop jobs!!

Awesome video. IMHO, that was the greatest generation in modern American history.

Wow! Deja vu! I was surprised, but yet not surprised, to see an old friend, Lee Lauderback, interviewed in this film. I have had the rare privilege of flying with him in his incredible 2-seat 'Stang, Crazy Horse. What a machine, and can this man fly! I'm still looking for various parts of my anatomy after that experience. He has so much respect for the WWII aviators, and how they were so skilled and level headed while flying breakneck maneuvers in primitive equipment, all the while being chased and shot at. This is a great opportunity to look back and reflect.

Totally blown away with this video.

What a great pilot, what a great plane. Thanks Tom for sharing something that many of us have forgotten, or just don't know about. All those fine men who partook in the P-51, are getting less and less. If only some way to always remember them; well this is helping to know at least one pilot.
