What Tape Measures Are Good For

besides measuring. Supposing, theoretically, you have a floor framed out and are putting the sheathing down. About half way through you decide it is a good idea to check under the floor for stuff cause once it is down, no way to get anything out. You see one of your crowbars about 8' away, but a beam is in the way of getting to it. A tape measure is good for hooking onto tools and retrieving them. This is all hypothetical of course.

Hey, just yesterday I used a tape measure that I keep in the truck to retrieve mail in the mailbox that was way out of reach from my perch in the driver's seat. I didn't have to get out of the truck until it was in the garage.

        Regards, Steve

Just today, I used mine to help my neighbor measure a flagpole he was planning to put up. I held the pole in the upright position while he climbed up to the top with the end of the tape. Just then, his wife came home from the store and said "Why don't you two idiots just lay the danmed thing down and measure it?"

"Just like a stupid woman", I said... "We want to know how tall it is, not how long..."

Works as a back scratcher and as a cat toy.
