The Prisoner circa 1960 full episodes

If you were a fan of the original Prisoner here is a great time waster or perhaps a great winter snowed in bit of entertainment. It's from AMC and they have a bunch of other shows too including "B" Movies.

    edit:
OOPS for got the link,,,,, Prisoner
    Bill
don't blame me if you get nothing done today

OK so I'm really watching one of the "B" movies, at least until the e-mail delivers today's work.

I have "The Prisoner" series on VHS (bought long ago, on one of those Time-Life subscription plans) and recently bought it again on Blu-ray. I've only watched three episodes but the quality of the transfer is stunning. For example, the dark areas of the sky visible in the opening sequence of the AMC feed were also on the VHS version but are absent from the Blu-ray. Apart from the 4:3 format, and of course some of the hopelessly dated "technology," the visuals are equal to anything being done today. Pretty danged impressive for a TV show from the late 1960s.

Some of the closeout-type vendors have two or three seasons of Danger Man / Secret Agent available, but I've yet to find sources for them all. That was one my favorite shows when I was a kid. I would love to own the entire set but IIRC there are close to a hundred episodes altogether.

I watched The Prisoner on Saturday afternoons in the 70's--for an impressionable teenager, it was pretty darn hallucinogenic.

Ain't THAT the cast iron truth. I was not quite 16 during its initial US run during the summer of '68. I can still remember my mom coming and standing in the living room doorway while I was watching "Once Upon A Time," the penultimate episode, when things REALLY started getting weird, and after a couple minutes asking, "What on EARTH are you watching?!?"

In response I muttered something like, "You'd have to have watched the whole series from the beginning to understand it." Obviously I wasn't about to admit that I didn't understand it, either.

A couple of years ago on a trip to the UK we went to Wales and toured the original set of The Prisoner. Its a village right on the bay where all the shots of the big ballon chases across the sand flats were filmed. The houses and gardens and all the rest are still exactly as they were in the TV series. Can't begin to spell or pronounce the Welch name of the village, but it was a real thrill, as I was a dedicated watcher of the series

I just watched the series "in order" via netflix. However, that was really hard to do considering there doesn't seem to be one "correct" order and only the first and two last episodes are in agreement across all of the options http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...soner_episodes.

I went with the air date listing which meant jumpping all over from disc to disc (I think I had 4 or 5 Prisoner discs home at once to keep all of the ones I'd need to backtrack onto).

One of my all-time favorite series. In 1974 I was 17 and bedridden with mono, so I'd sleep all day so I could stay up and watch two episodes back to back on PBS.

I may have watched The Prisoner once. I think in the same time slot was "The Equalizer".
