    Big Scare today.

This morning while at work I became very dizzy, light headed, and somewhat short of breath, as well as pale. I called LOML and had her come get me to take me to see my MD. By the time she arrived I was not much better and decided to just go to the ER. The good news is they do not think I had a heart attack. I need to follow up with my MD in the morning. Hopefully he will be able to figure this out.

Needless to say lots of tests and the vampires got me. I spent all told almost six hours at the ER.

That's pretty scary Mark. I hope it was from a cold or something. Here's praying that it's something minor and the doc's figure it out.

BTW: Only six hours at ER is pretty good. Average wait in our major hospitals is around ten!

Well so far so good (no heart attack).

Thank God you had enough sense to get checked out right away.

            How do you feel now?

Do you have a CO detector at work?

Will be keeping you in my prayers.

Hopefully just a false alarm... Good not to take it for granted, though.

Thanks everyone, who has posted so far. I really appreciate the prayers. He was feeling pretty good when we got home but about an hour later I got a call while I was in town telling me he was dizzy again and I needed to get home. So once home I discussed with him what he wanted and then decided to call the ER to ask the doctor that had just seen him there what she thought and she told us to make him comfortable and if he felt like we had to go back in to bring him in. He has been resting a lot and I am not sure if I am the best person to be a nurse for him.

I didn't go through near as much as he did today but I am still very tired and feel like I have been poked and prodded by everyone. The really good news is that I was able to call my mother who came and got the 4 year old and took him to her house until about the time the 14 year olds were due home on the bus.

When we get done with the appointment tomorrow, whatever time that might be I will post or Mark will post how things went. I sure hope that they can figure out why he is so dizzy.

                  Big scare today

Hey Mark, hope you are ok....Sounds like some of the same symptoms
my wife had hit her a couple of years back. We had just pulled into the church
parking for Sunday service and she started feeling dizzy, disoriented, lightheaded and so forth. We got her to the ER right away, they tested her for several things and finally determined that she had vertigo. It had never happened to her before, but now at least when she feels like it is coming on,
we know what to expect and how to deal with it. Kinda sounds like what may have hit you as well...hope your are doing better by the time you read this.

Best wishes, Mark, and I do hope it's nothing serious.

They won't even let me play a doctor on tv, but it sounds very similar to an anxiety attack I had about 20 years ago.
Whatever it is, feel better, and don't be embarrassed or hesitant to go back to the ER if things flare up again.
The only thing you don't want to be saying in the future is 'I should have', don't take any chances. Again, feel better soon!

Hope it was nothing serious. It does sound like a panic attack, but you should certainly get it checked out.

Please do, if Mark himself doesn't feel up to posting. Let him know we're all thinking of him.
